Commitment to France as Production Site
A dream beginning for the new toy centre of SMOBY TOYS: 13th May saw the official opening of a new production building in Arinthod under glorious sunshine. Matching the mood outside, the guests were in high spirits as well. This is because the SIMBA DICKIE GROUP has invested 13 million euro in the new building and machinery. And a further 1.5 million in a new, modern administration building in Lavans-lès-Saint-Claude. A clear and confident commitment to France as a production site.
In his opening speech, which Michael Sieber, CEO of the Simba Dickie Group, gave in French, he looked promisingly into the future and praised the employees in Jura: “We have an outstanding team in our French Smoby think tank. And we want to provide ideal working conditions for them.” Words of welcome were also offered by Thomas Le Paul, Managing Director of Smoby Toys France, and Françis Vuibert, prefect of the Jura department, among others.
This was followed by an impressive factory tour, in which the efficiency of the new injection moulding machines was demonstrated. 21 of these machines altogether guarantee that SMOBY’s well-known and well-loved toys will continue to feature the very highest standard of production quality in future. The products range from children’s vehicles to play kitchens to slides.
And these were well and truly put to the test the next day, which was family day! All of the employees were invited along with their family and friends. A successful celebration and at the same time a sign of the corporate culture: for SMOBY TOYS, community is still priority number one.
