The Techno Classica exhibition is a highlight and must-see event for model fans. From 7 to 11 April, the largest and most successful exhibition in the world for veteran, classic and collector cars will open its doors for the 22nd time in Essen, Germany. Approximately 1,100 exhibitors from 28 countries will present their products over an area encompassing 120,000 m² and 20 exhibition halls. SCHUCO will be on hand with a surprise for attendees in the form of two new special edition models.

SCHUCO’s great line of products will be on display in Hall 2.0, Stand 207.

To commemorate the Techno Classica 2010 exhibition, SCHUCO is introducing the fantastic new Lotus 49C “Gold Leaf” Piccolo series model which will be limited to 1,000 examples worldwide.

The Lotus 49 was a Formula 1 car which was built and raced from 1967 to 1970 by the Lotus Formula 1 team from Great Britain. The Lotus 49 set new standards in race car design starting in 1967. The final racing success for this legendary car was claimed by driver Jochen Rindt in 1970. Rindt took first place at the Monaco Grand Prix by only a slim margin after Jack Brabham locked up his brakes in the Rascasse curve during the final lap.

Production of the Piccolo Lotus 49C “Gold Leaf #3” is limited to 1,000 pieces.

An additional highlight for 1:43 scale fans is the legendary Porsche 907 Langheck #40. This model has been made especially for the Techno Classica and is available exclusively at this exhibition. It was in the Porsche 907 Long Tail that Jochen Rindt together with Gerhard Müller competed in the 1967 Le Mans 24-hour race.
