Why are toy prices going up?

This year toys are five to ten percent more expensive, according to BVS, the German Toy Retailers´ Association. Why?

Food prices have been going up for ages, but this year toys are also five to ten percent more expensive, according to BVS, the German Toy Retailers´ Association. Why? Because about 60 percent of German imports are from China and wages in China are going up. What´s more, the industry has to meet the cost of stricter quality controls. Not forgetting that the Chinese currency is increasing in value and the cost of raw materials in China itself is going up.
